Lewisham Music Hub
FEBRUARY 2017

Welcome to our February newsletter. The month got off to a great start with the Mayor of Lewisham approving the transfer of the Music Service and Hub to Lewisham Music, a new registered charity, from 1 April 2017. We are very excited by the opportunities this will provide for us to develop our work further. We will be publishing more information about our plans in due course.

Our Rock & Pop and Lewisham Junior Orchestra courses take place this week, it is great to see so many young people taking part and we hope everyone has an enjoyable time. If you couldn't take part this time then be sure to sign up for the summer term courses. There's not long until Lewisham comes alive with the 8th Lewisham Live festival which offers a platform for creativity and performances, inspired by and involving the young people of Lewisham. We hope you can make it along to one (or more) of the events that are taking place throughout March.

There are many other fantastic activities coming up, please have a look below - we hope you find something that interests you.

"In our masterclass series we hope to open up new avenues, to build on strengths and to encourage the young musicians to shape their improvisations into something more lasting, as well as offering guidance on how to take their music making to the next level.” The first Masterclass in November was a real success.
