Wednesday 8th February 2017

NO TRAINING AT THE CLUBHOUSE FOR UNDER 11’S ON
WEDNESDAY 8TH FEBRUARY DUE TO THE ABOVE RACE

Waltham Forest Feel Good Centre (Entrance via Chingford Road)
First Race - 7pm start
Cost = FREE
U9=SCHOOL YEAR 4 AND UNDER-Run 800m
U11=SCHOOL YEAR 5 & 6-Run 1mile

There are six races over the season and if you compete in 5 out of 6 races you will receive a medal whatever your final finishing position. There are also trophies for the top three in each age group.

GLL have asked us if we can avoid unnecessary walking on the track. Once your child has signed in, please can everyone stand on the outside edge of the track.

The only people allowed on the inside of the track are Orion organisers. This will also help with our time keepers.

There are two more races, who will win? Remember to win a trophy or a medal* presented at our award evening at Chingford Assembly Hall on 22^nd September, you must be a member.

Virgin Money Giving Mini London Marathon

Would you like to represent Waltham Forest in this year’s Virgin Money Giving Mini London Marathon on Sunday 23^rd April 2017?

Age categories are:
Under 13 - Boys and Girls
Must be at least 11 years old on 23 April 2017
Born between 1 September 2003 and 23 April 2006

Under 15 - Boys and Girls
Born between 1 September 2001 and 31 August 2003

Under 17 - Boys and Girls
Born between 1 September 1999 and 31 August 2001

Selection for Waltham Forest is as follows:
The runner must live or go to school in the borough

In order to be considered for a place runners are being asked to attend any parkrun session between Saturday 4^th – Saturday 25^th March 2017 (4x Saturdays) the fastest times in each age group will be used to select the Waltham Forest team.

Membership Increasing from September 2017

England Athletics will be increasing their fee in April 2017 to £14 per athlete and they have made the decision to increase it again the following year.

Therefore it is with regret that our annual membership will be increasing from 1st September 2017:-

Juniors aged 8 & 9 from £20 to £25 and
Juniors aged 10 and over from £25 to £30 (that's £2.50 a month!)

As you can appreciate that some of your membership money goes on this registration which puts a strain on our funds. However, because of the money we raise through a variety of events that we host we are able to keep membership fees down.

UK Athletics are now enforcing that when you compete you are required to register your registration number or you will not be able to compete.

If you are one of those athletes that still haven’t paid your membership fee PLEASE PAY ASAP to -
