Dear EBCF Followers

We write to announce a programme change to our Festival line-up on Saturday, 04 March 2017.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Rose Tremain is unfortunately no longer able to attend the festival and sends her unreserved apologies.  We are however lucky to welcome Ennis-born actor and writer Mark O’Halloran to take her place.

Mark O’Halloran in conversation with Seán Rocks

Date & Time: Saturday, 04 March @ 8pm (preceded by screening of VIVA @ 6pm)
Venue: glór;  Tickets: see details below
Join us for a special night where actor and writer Mark O’Halloran talks with Seán Rocks, presenter of RTÉ Radio One’s ARENA, about his career on stage and screen. This follows a screening of VIVA – the Irish entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2016 Oscars.

As a writer, Mark has written for both theatre and cinema. His screenplay for “ADAM & PAUL” won the London Evening Standard award for “Best Screenplay” and was nominated for a European Film Award. The winner of numerous Irish Theatre Awards, as well a Fringe First at Edinburgh and 2 Obie Awards in New York, Mark wrote the screen-play for VIVA, described by The Irish Times as ‘a beautiful, funny drama.’

As an actor Mark has worked with all of the major theatre companies in Ireland, most recently in the acclaimed production of “The Importance of Nothing” by Pan Pan Theatre Company and “The Shadow of a Gunman” with The Abbey Theatre Dublin, and on screen, he has appeared in Adam and Paul, The Guard, Calvary and Viva.

An evening not to be missed honouring the huge talent of an Ennis-born artist.
