Filing volunteer is needed for the Department of Human Services. Volunteers should be able to commit 2-5 hours per week, as needed. Training is provided and background checks are required. Must be able to push a wheeled file cart.

CERT training educates individuals about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operation. This could be beneficial training for members of our disaster Volunteer Registration Team, VIPS members, faith-based disaster-preparedness groups, and others interested in emergency preparedness.
A 3-day training at Scott County Emergency Management Agency is being offered on the following

Volunteer to be a Matter of Balance Coach!
Coaches help participants become more confident about managing falls, help to identify ways to reduce falls, and lead exercises to help increase strength and balance.
What do you need to be a coach?
good communication and interpersonal skills
enthusiasm, dependability and a willingness to lead small groups of older adults
ability to lead low to moderate level exercise
8 Hours of training and well-developed program materials are provided. Training will take place during February in our Rock Island office.

Annual Family Caregiver Conference
