Hello and welcome to the North Kelvin Community Council February newsletter!
1. February meeting
Our next meeting is on Tuesday 21 February, 6.30–8.30pm, St Charles' Church Hall, 1 Kelvinside Gardens, G20 6BG. As usual, you're welcome to come along if you have any views on any particular local issues to share or even if you would just like to listen to the discussion. One of the items on the agenda will be a community noticeboard: we're in the process of applying for council funding for this. Watch this space for further details.
2. Stolen cars
The local police have told us there has been a spate of cars being stolen following the theft of car keys from the owner's home: make it difficult for thieves by keeping your keys out of their sight and reach.
3. Arts placemaking event
Friends of Possilpark Greenspace and Greenspace Scotland have organised a placemaking event with the aim of developing a comprehensive arts programme in the community. There will be a Firhill workshop on Sunday 5 March, 1–4pm (at the football club, Aitken Suite, 80 Firhill Rd, G20 7AL).
4. Understanding Glasgow
A project designed to inform people about the well-being of Glasgow’s population (in areas such as health, poverty, education, and the environment), can be accessed at the Understanding Glasgow website. You can see how the Maryhill Road Corridor, which includes our area, compares with the Glasgow average by looking at the neighbourhood profile (download a printer-friendly version).
Thank you for reading. Please get in touch with your comments and suggestions (and advance notice of events)!
Best wishes
North Kelvin Community Council
