Time to Place An Order

The Potluck Food Co-op website is open now- so you can go on over and place an order for all the great organic, bulk foods you love.

The order deadline is Monday Feb. 27th at 9:00 am- so please get your order in this weekend.

Pick-up is at the Whitehorse Food Bank, back alley door on Saturday March 4th noon-2:00.

So go now and take a look at the website and order all the lovely, healthy food you need for these late winter days.

New Website

Have you checked out the new Potluck Food Co-op website yet?

It is up and running now and an excellent system that allows all of our members to easily order both organic, healthy food from the Horizon Catalogue and local products with just a scroll and click of the mouse.

The website is open continuously now, so you can order online as you think of things you need, and you will be notified when the final deadline is for the next distribution date.

Dear volunteers!

As of today, we will be asking you to volunteer without any recompense. Sorry, our order profits are very tight as we start our new model. Hopefully, with the support of our members, we will be able to reinstate this in the future.

But don't stop volunteering! We need you to make PFC work!

Yay! An Upcoming AGM

Please mark your calendars for the AGM!

Wednesday, March 15 at 7:00 pm
at the Yukon Conservation Society building where we have our new office

In addition to the usual AGM business, we'll be doing a presentation about where the Potluck Food Co-op is at now and head into a discussion about where we might go from here.

Under the new way we are operating, we may have more time to focus on food security issues and other food-related projects, and we would like to hear from our members!

Bring along anyone you think might be interested in joining our co-op.

We will also be presenting special resolutions to make changes to our constitution such as:

 1) to extend the period in which we can have our AGM from the first 60 days of the following year, to 92 days after the following year (ie. from the end of February to the end of March).

2) to reduce the minimum number of board members from 5 to 3 (sadly due to the lack of members stepping forward to take on this role)

3) to offer an option to join the co-op with annual fees.

See you there!

Volunteer Updates

We need a bookkeeper and a treasurer, and they need not be the same person. However, our bookkeeping has become quite simple under our new model, and this could be an excellent opportunity for a member to learn about keeping simple books, and helping the board make sense of them.

The current treasurer is retiring from this role, but is available for mentoring.

Also, Simone Rudge will be taking over our communications role from Ruth Lera in May. Thank you Ruth for all you have done for us! And thank you Simone for being willing to take this on!

Please send an email to info@potluckcoop.com if you want to volunteer with the Potluck Food Co-op in any capacity.
