AUTOMOBILE ALLEY PEDESTRIAN/BIKE SAFETY SURVEY

Downtown Oklahoma City, Inc., released an online survey today to gather public input about potential pedestrian safety improvements in the Automobile Alley district. The survey includes questions about travel behavior in the district, awareness levels about pedestrian and bike safety, where the biggest areas of concern are, and what types of improvements you would support.

To take the survey, visit surveymonkey.com/r/autoalleysafety before March 3 at 5 p.m.
2017 ARTIST INVITATIONAL

Downtown Oklahoma City Initiatives is proud to bring back its annual Artist Invitational program. The Artist Invitational serves as a platform for local artists to submit their ideas for public art and placemaking in downtown Oklahoma City that doubles in purpose: to inspire conversation, whimsy, and wonder downtown, and to activate unused space or reinventing existing space in the urban core.

Previously, the Invitational was reserved for a group of hand-selected artists. This year, Downtown Oklahoma City Initiatives staff and board members are expanding the reach of this project to allow an unlimited number of artists to apply through an open call.

Projects that have been funded through the Artist Invitational include Jason Pawley’s “Cultivation Mural” on the Reno Avenue underpass, adam Lanman’s “Skyline: Timeline” installation at OCU School of Law, and Leigh Martin’s fiber installation “Contained Aesthetic” at the downtown basketball court.

Deadline to submit proposals is March 15, 2017. Click here to view the request for proposals for project details. For more information and to submit a proposal, visit downtownokc.com.
