THREE DEBTS OF GRATITUDE…
TO TB VETS AND LOYAL DONORS
“Hello, my name is Jason Zurba, Clinical Supervisor for the Respiratory Therapy Department of Royal Columbian Hospital. I want to thank TB Vets for their ongoing support of Respiratory Therapy in British Columbia and to me personally over the last two decades.
My Three Debts of Gratitude
First – In 1988 TB Vets granted me a bursary at Thompson Rivers University when I was in training to become a Respiratory Therapist. I desperately needed this support and it helped me become the conscientious Respiratory Therapist I am today.
Second – With the reliable generosity of TB Vets, Respiratory Therapists have state-of-the-art equipment to help patients on life support. When you look closely on all types of ventilators, you will see an unassuming TB Vets tag.
Third – On a much more personal note, a special ventilator donated by TB Vets saved the life of my Step-Daughter’s Father. My Step-Daughter is one of the most important people in my world. The night before TB Vets Award Ceremony, her Dad suffered a heart attack. The ventilator TB Vets donated saved his life and gave my beautiful Step-Daughter hope.
As Respiratory Therapists, one gets used to being forgotten. Patients we see are the sickest of the sick, requiring life support to make it through their immediate recovery. By the time they are awake, the Respiratory Therapist’s job is done and we are off assisting another respiratory crisis. How could they ever remember us?”
“The one group that has never forgotten us is TB Vets and their loyal donors.”
“TB Vets' generosity and trustworthy philanthropy keep our modern ICUs functioning.”
