Not really into joining a gym?  That's fine.  Perhaps you started an at-home fitness program or signed up with ClassPass. 
 
It's now mid-February.  Are you still going strong or have you fallen off the dreaded fitness cliff?  This is the point when people who committed themselves to "get in shape" in January slack off and stop showing up regularly if at all.

At the club we usually see a decline in visits starting the second or third week of February.  Here are the signs that you are at risk of falling off the fitness cliff.

F - Falling into old patterns.

We want to help you avoid the cliff and help you develop a long-term healthy lifestyle!  So here are some of our tips on how you can stay on track this month.
 

Start Small and Set Realistic Goals

Creating new healthy habits may feel like you're taking baby steps but, trust me, they add up! Whether it's staying with a fitness program or making good nutrition choices, if you need some extra tips on staying focused and following through on your goals, here's a great article by Mel Robbins.  She talks about identifying your triggers and obstacles and how best to handle them.
 

Find a Work Out Partner

Having someone who has the same (or relatively similar) health and fitness goals as you, is a giant motivator!  By having a workout partner, you will always have someone encouraging you and helping you to stay on track even on the days you don’t want to be! In return, you can help motivate and keep them accountable as well.

Consider Personal Training

If you are feeling unmotivated and bored at the gym, don't really have a game plan or if you have injuries or had surgeries and don't know what exercises are safe for you, the right personal trainer can absolutely help! 

As a matter of fact, we've heard from quite a few people this month who've got some knee issues.  Maybe this is the perfect program for you, too.

Healthy Knees Training
February 28 through March 23, 2017
with Althea Hondrogen, CPT and Pilates Instructor

This 4-week program combines strength training and Pilates for a fun no-impact workout to reduce joint pain, improve strength and help you live an active lifestyle.
 
This small and personalized group training meets on Tuesdays and Thursday at 12 noon or 4pm in the sun-filled Pilates Studio.  Limit of 4 per session, 8 total.  Price:  $175 for members, $225 for non-members.
