UM Students Offer Free Income Tax Filing Assistance
The University of Montevallo Stephens College of Business is once again offering the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. The service allows low-to-moderate income citizens to get their taxes filed for free by certified student volunteers. This no-cost method also offers invaluable experience for student volunteers.
The VITA program is offered in Morgan Hall room 202 each Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. until April 15. Those seeking to utilize the service are encouraged to make an appointment by calling 205-665-6531.
During each appointment, clients will need to bring a photo ID, social security number for each family member and working adult, W-2s and other income forms, childcare provider name, address, tax ID and bank routing and account numbers for checking and savings accounts.
Admissions To Host Coffee & Conversation Event
The Admissions Office is hosting a coffee and conversation event on Feb. 28 for all faculty or staff who’ve recently sent a child to college or are in the college search process. The event starts at 3:30 p.m. in the Farmer Hall Meeting Room.
Clothing Drive Donations Requested
The offices of Partnerships and Outreach, Service Learning and the Career Center will host another Dress For Success event for students on April 13.
They are currently seeking clean, gently-used donations for men and women for the annual UM professional clothing drive benefiting UM students:
