There’s nothing that excites GHM like a film shoot. It’s at the core of what we do, and it takes everyone—staff, volunteers, prayer partners, and donors—to get the job done.
We’ll be setting up, shooting and breaking down the Uzbek Women's Program, Shukar Aytaman (I Am Thankful) March 5-13. If you click the link, you’ll find more information about the shoot and many ways you can help us complete this important project. We'd like to specifically invite you to join us and experience the excitement in person! Contact Hannah Beth (hannahbeth@globalheartministries.org or 903-521-5664) to set up a time to be on set. During February, our Monthly Prayer Page is devoted almost wholly to the many prayer requests generated by this monumental effort. The following article explains why this program is so important and deserves our prayers. If you’d like to pray along with us, click the red bar below.
We recently heard from one of our viewers of GHM's Uzbek Women's Program, Shukar Aytaman (I Am Thankful). Here’s what she had to say:
“I just started watching your shows about women. I liked the episode about Mary and Martha very much. All is done well, very clear and especially, it is very useful.
For instance, the information about Martha’s hospitality was a revelation to me. Truly, many teach that Martha was wrong, but the Lord didn’t say Martha’s work was wrong. He said that her worry was wrong. Some do not pay attention to hospitality, but hospitality is good. Only the worry is bad. It is so important for your programs to point people in the right direction.
It is remarkable that a simple story, about Mary, Martha, and Jesus, has revealed deep things. I believe many Bible stories like this carry deep meanings for us. I would love for you to keep showing us these helpful interpretations of what we read. This is useful for our Christian sisters, and also our Christian brothers, as well. For instance, my husband told me that through watching this program, he understands women much better.
The best thing is that the conversation is led simply and in a very interesting manner for the audience. My mother-in-law started watching your programs as well. We are planning to copy all your programs onto a flash drive and give it to her.
Thank you for everything.”
We need your support to continue providing this helpful Christian programming to our audience in Central Asia and the Middle East. Click the bar below to donate.
When we talk about Tarana we use terms like “force of nature”, “secret weapon” and “human tornado.” These metaphors help us describe the strength of her determination to spread the Gospel in Azerbaijan. In the last twelve month period, Tarana has played a part in several situations which can only be described as miraculous. Projects which would daunt most people are just a matter of faith with Tarana. For instance, she walked boldly into the office of an Azerbaijani government official to discuss procuring national talent to perform on her Christian TV program – not a task for the faint of heart or faith. Hikoyalr Zamini (Story Land) is our Uzbek Children’s Program featuring Abror and Little Bear. We are in the process of dubbing this popular program into Azerbaijani to expand its audience and its Azerbaijani name is Hekayeler Alemi. Our friend Timothy wrote and recorded the music. The intro sequence is completed and we knew you’d enjoy seeing it! Click the video above and enjoy!
