Hop Burns & Haute Couture

Introducing our new merch range! Beautiful gear for beer lovers. We'll be rolling out small-batch collections from time to time over the year, working with our favourite artists and designers to create cool stuff for the brew-minded.

First off the rank are the three designs above - our favourite bad puns, slogans and logos put to fabric by our awesome resident designer Samuel Muir. Each design comes in loads of different shades (including black and grey if hot pink isn't your colour) and your choice of a high quality T-shirt, hoodie or sweatshirt.

But to get in on the act, you'll have to move fast. This first campaign ends on Sunday 5 March, after which the good folk at our merch partners, Everpress, will gather up your orders and ship your garments directly to you.

Get up, get into it, get involved! Check out our blog here for the links and get ordering before it's too late...
Bring on the Belgians

We're awash with Belgian sours, thanks to a new shipment that landed on Tuesday. It's been flying out, but you're not too late to snare yourself some gold.

One of the beers we're most excited about is the Bzart Kriekenlambiek Millesime 2012 from Oud Beersel. It's been brewed with some 400g of sour cherries per litre, and has the raters of Untappd quite excited - we don't speak their language but we can count the stars. Make sure you check out its equally esteemed stablemate Lambiek Millesime 2012 too.

Hanssens Artisanaal is another new name to our shelves. Hanssens has been blending great beers since 1896 and is now the oldest independent geuze blender in the world. Choose from the Oude Gueuze, Lambic Experimental Raspberry or - arguably the pick of the litter - Oude Kriek Handgeplukte Schaerbeekse Krieken, a blend of 75% young lambic with Schaerbeekse cherries and 25% old lambic. And if you can pronounce that properly when you're buying it, we'll give you bonus Beer Miles.

We've also stocked up our Tilquin shelves and yes, we've still got some of the C-word...

New stuff

Beavertown celebrates its sixth birthday this weekend, so it's only fitting they get top billing in this week's new stuff round-up. The brewery instigated a barrel-ageing programme last year - the Tempus Project - and Moonshiner and El Mariachi are the latest releases. El Mariachi is a tequila barrel-aged gose infused with dehydrated lime and sea salt; Moonshiner is a berlinerweisse aged on Woodford Reserve barrels and infused with lime zest and aromatic bitters.

A new Mikkeller shipment has also landed. We've now got Nelson Sauvin Brut in cans as well as in 750mls, the mighty Lindemans collab Spontanbasil is back as well as another addition to the Beer Geek Breakfast series, Cocoa Shake, and a new IPA, No Cow on the Ice. Look out for the udders on the can. ("There's no cow on the ice" is a rather wonderful Scandinavian way of saying "Don't worry" apparently.)

On the can front, hitting later today are two top-ups from Beerbliotek, Nah... Just Had Some Ice Cream Blueberry Vanilla Berlinerweisse, and Single Hop Mosaic APA. We also welcome Vocation back into the fold with Oak & Dagger, a stunning oak aged stout.

And perhaps saving the best til last, Verdant launches its latest and, if the rumours are to be believed, greatest DIPA, Maybe One More PSI. Bursting with peach, passion fruit and mango flavours, we're predicting this one will fly out within hours. Keep watching Twitter or checking in on the online shop to see when it's landed. Our mouths are watering...

Plenty loads more where that came from, so head to the Beer Menu on our website, check our Untappd page or see the Just Added section of our online shop to get the full details. To make sure the beers you want don't get away, order online and use the Pick Up at Shop option to reserve them (or get them delivered).

This week's pick: Kew Green (& Black) Chocolate Milk Stout

As spring makes a valiant attempt to come early, it feels like a the perfect time to enjoy a milk stout - after a winter of big powerhouse darks, it's nice to start moving towards the light. This stout, from the good folk at Kew Brewery, is brewed with oats for smoothness, with real chocolate as well as cacao nibs for rich decadence that's not too heavy, but just right. ★★★★★

Coming up on flagon-fill...

February has been a month of celebrating our Cornish friends Verdant following the brewery's RateBeerBest awards win in January. Currently pouring is the excellent Bloom IPA, with new pale ale High Level Kink waiting in the wings. (PS: the story behind the pale ale name is much more innocent than it might sound.)

Also pouring are local favourites Old Kent Road Heygate Pale and Gipsy Hill Beatnik, and the astoundingly delicious Brewdog and Cloudwater collab, New England IPA.

Standing by in the cellar, we've got Running with Spectres Black IPA from Bristol's newest superstars, Lost & Grounded, Kernel's always excellent IPA Citra and one of our favourite beers of 2016, Salopian Kashmir. Next week, stand by for a pallet-load of fresh goodness from Marble Brewery...

Check in any time to see what's pouring at our flagon-fill page on the website or on Untappd.
Crazy Bastard is back

The pocket rockets that are Crazy Bastard sauces have returned to the shelves. Hand-made in Berlin, these are some of our favourite hot sauces - we love the way producer Jonathan manages to bottle the zing of super-fresh chillis. New in is Carolina Reaper & Blueberry, made with the world's spiciest chilli peppers. Be warned - it's most definitely HOT, but oh so good...
No More Heroes XXXIII – Elusive Brewing/Wild Weather Ales Herman Toothrot

Open up and say Arrrrr. Total Ales editor Matthew Curtis delivers original pirate material in this week's No More Heroes, when he gets lost on Monkey Island and stumbles across Herman Toothrot...

We're so glad Matt picked this ale to feature. Elusive Brewing head brewer Andy Parker makes perfectly crafted beers - unique works of art from a true master at work. We've just taken delivery of a bunch of new and amazing beers from him so make sure you get your hands on some. And stand by for our next Elusive collaboration, being brewed at the end of the month.

In the meantime, whet your appetite by reading Matt's latest blog and try not to go too bananas.
