Sharpening Character is in need of a photo! This time to backdrop the passage of Matthew 6:33-24:

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."

Let's use this as an opportunity to experiment with all manual focusing!

This week's photo assignment:

  1. Set up a composition that incorporates a spyglass, a telescope or binoculars (here are some ideas). Photograph the scene using automatic focus. Switch to manual focus and photograph the same scene using manual focus. Which shot was easier to take? Which shot was sharper? Did either method provide more flexibility? Was autofocus actually faster? In what situations would it be advantageous to be proficient at using manual focus? Learn more: How And When To Use Manual Focus by www.itsjustlight.com

  2. Take some pictures of (or sort through your archives to find images you've already taken of) a spyglass, a telescope, binoculars, a castle, or a fortress.

  3. Submit your picture(s) for the opportunity VersePic: Seek Ye First on Shoot to Serve for Sharpening Character by Thursday, February 16, 11:59 PM ET
