PTA Meeting, Thursday Feb 16th 6:30pm - Cafteria
Another way to get involved at the school is to join a PTA meeting – the next one is scheduled for this Thursday February 16th, at 6.30-8.00pm in the cafeteria (childcare provided). A summary of PTA business will be first on the schedule, and then join us for a conversation about gun violence and how we can keep our kids safe. We have a speaker from Be Smart (Gun Safety), and there will be free gun locks available!

Tickets: Purchase by February 20th @ $75.00/person or $150/couple or to secure a table of 10 for $700. After February 20th tickets will go up to $80/person, $160/couple or secure a table of 10 for $800.

Logo Contest
Create something that will be a part of your school’s history!
That’s right, a logo isn’t something that is used once or twice. It becomes a
part of your schools’ history! The winner(s) of this contest will see their logo on school spirit wear, the Lafayette Elementary and PTA Web sites, plus on handouts that go home and around the school grounds for years to come!
What is a logo?
- It QUICKLY lets people know who you are
• It can be a simple picture or symbol
• It can be just words
• It can be words and a picture/symbol together
Think about who we are. What images come to mind? Draw them quickly. Don’t get too detailed. A logo must be able to be viewed big on a poster, or small on an envelope, so simple images work the best.
We want all your ideas and sketches. You are welcome to submit as many logo designs as you want. You can work on them with a friend too!
The winner(s) of the contest will get an opportunity to work with a professional design team to take their logo from a sketch on a piece of paper to a finished design!
Please make sure you include your full name, grade and room number on all the logos you submit for the contest.
Flyers were sent home previously, so please submit all entries to the school office by February, 14th.
