If applicable, the After-School Care Application and fee ($25 per child or $40 per family) are also due on Thursday, March 2nd.  Tuition Assistance Request forms and ALL required paperwork are due on Monday, April 24th.

JPII Michelle Smith Spring Flower Sale

The John Paul II Flower Sale is again dedicated to Michelle (Stueve) Smith, a teacher at our school from 1979-1995, who passed away December 28, 2011.  Michelle’s love of flowers, the QHR community, Catholic education, and especially JPII led her to establish the first flower sale in 1996.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!  John Paul II students can sign up to take presale orders after Mass starting February 18th.  Please click on the link below to see what timeslots are available.  All sales collected during this time will go toward your family goal of $100!  Be sure to write your family name on the order forms.

Low Sensory Morning at Nelson-Atkins

"In partnership with The Autism Society of the Heartland & Joshua Center, The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art invites you and your family to join us for a morning of fun and accessibility at our Low Sensory Morning in the Bloch Galleries!

We invite participants into the museum an hour before we open to the public in order to provide a quiet and low-stimulating environment where you can enjoy hands on art activities, interactive games, art in the galleries, relaxation in the Low Sensory Break Room, and conversation with representatives from The Autism Society of the Heartland and the Joshua Center. Visual resources, hand fidgets, and other accommodations will be provided.

To register please click on this Eventbrite link.

For more information, contact The Autism Society of the Heartland at 913-706-0042 or info@asaheartland.org."

Young Artists Needed

"Each year the Oregon-California Trails Association (OCTA) produces a special western calendar based on a particular theme or topic. The calendar will be created using the original artwork of elementary students. Prizes will be awarded to each child whose artwork is selected.

The Oregon-California Trails Association is dedicated to the study, preservation, interpretation, appreciation and enjoyment of the western pioneer trails. This is one of its educational projects. The project integrates history and art. We hope that teachers will see the value of this, incorporate it into their class work and encourage their students to participate. Hopefully it will also increase their students’ interest in learning about the West and those peoples who inhabited it, an important part of our collective history."
