Sunday's Message - "I'm Made New"
Ephesians 2:1-10
Preaching - Pastor Jill
Aren’t you thankful that you are not who you were 10 years ago? 20 years ago? In Middle School? I know I am so very thankful that I outgrew the frizzy tight perms and the horrendous multicolored shirt that I thought would be a good idea to wear to picture day. Mostly I’m thankful that I grew out of the negative attitude and insecurities I had as a middle schooler. Even more than that, I am thankful that because of my relationship with God I am able to leave behind the sinful nature of this world. Am I prefect? No. Do I still make mistakes? Yes. Yet because of God’s redeeming love and grace I have a new life and most importantly hope for the future. For this I am extremely thankful!
This Sunday I am pressing on in the book of Ephesians and embracing the encouragement that Paul gives to his readers. So be encouraged, God knows who we were. It is up to us to take God at His word about who we now are! We can no longer think of ourselves in the old way, or burden ourselves down with past guilts. In Jesus we are made new. We are His own creations, created to do the good works that he has for us to do.

PHCC has volunteered to serve at The Banquet on Friday, February 17th. You have graciously filled the need for the 5:30 am slots! We still need more volunteers at 6:30 am to serve the meal. There will be a sign-up sheet on the Welcome Table. Contact Lisa Ross at 553-0834 with any questions.
We would like to thank all who donated monetary contributions to the Banquet meal this last week. We were able to raise over $700! Thank you for your generous giving to this cause!

Adult Sunday School
Starting on Sunday, February 26th, the Adult Sunday School class will be exploring The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis. It's a fictional work about a busload of people from "Hell" who get to take a vacation in "Heaven" and stay as long as they like... or get back on the bus to return.
It's about 130 pages. Each chapter is basically a parable centered on of one of the people encountering Heaven and their choice to stay or not.
David Bergan will be leading the class in the Fireside Room. He will read a chapter or two each week with discussion time for the group. Please order a book for yourself ahead of time as we will not have them available at the church. We have included a link below to Amazon.

Thank you, church family, for all your expressions of love shown in so many ways during the time of Dorothy’s illness and home going. Your visits, phone calls, cards, meals, and flowers meant so much to her and all of us. She loved everyone in the church. Your prayers then, and now, sustain our family as we continue to thank the Lord for her life.
Love in Christ,
Eldon and family
