They're Back! LaVista Hills organizers suddenly bring back Chamblee annexation, push for quick action.

After a year of almost no activity, and certainly no public meetings or discussion of their massive, failed annexation to Chamblee last year, LaVista Hills organizers have suddenly announced a new annexation map for legislative approval. The short Georgia legislative session is already nearly half-over.  Suddenly, there is once again a bombshell new proposal. Proponents are leaving no time to think.;

A map, and more details can be found in the story at the Brookhaven Post.

The map covers an area with 12,000 residents. Supporters say that after a year of work, they have a petition with just 150 - 200 signatures of people who wish to be annexed to Chamblee.

The state legislature will likely not entertain this proposal unless it gets the support of the Chamblee City Council. Organizers are presenting the proposal at the next Chamblee Work Session, this Thursday night.

City of Chamblee Work Sessions
Thursday, February 16th at 6 p.m.
Chamblee Civic Center
3540 Broad Street

Chamblee, GA 30341

The public is welcome, but public comments normally not allowed during work sessions. We encourage those who are affected to attend.

Please EMAIL THE CITY COUNCIL and let them know how you feel about this sudden, rushed initiative.  Be sure to tell them whether you are a current Chamblee resident or a resident of the annexation area.
