Norway supports GWP governance goals

The Norwegian government recently signed a 3-year donor agreement with GWP. Hans Olav Ibrekk represented the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs at GWP’s Financing Partners Group meeting in December. He says GWP has a key role to play in developing the required capacity, analytical tools and approaches for decision makers to meet the growing and urgent need of improved water resources management.

Indonesia: More rice, less water

GWP Southeast Asia has been supporting farmers in Indonesia with an alternative rice cultivation system in the past years, and the benefits are now showing. In December 2016, results and new guidelines for the System Rice Intensification (SRI) were presented, along with a video on the project. Read more >>

 

Sanitation plan prepared in the Seychelles

An Integrated Comprehensive Sanitation Master Plan (ICAMP) is currently being set up in the Seychelles. The plan will promote innovative and alternative approaches to sanitation in urban planning on the three main islands of the archipelago Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue. Read more >>

New water reservoir for W National Park

GWP Niger is assisting government institutions in building a water reservoir for the wildlife of W National Park of Niger. The water point will have a capacity of 16,000 m3 to keep water for a longer time after the rainy season ends, which is usually in September or early October. Read more >>
