February Session of the Month

Title: AICPA: Leveraging Privacy Principles and Framework for Global Privacy Risk Management - CF15-4432

Description: Organizations increasingly leverage personal data as part of their business models, using Internet and mobile apps to source that data, and regularly moving the data across borders. Meanwhile, privacy and security related compliance standards are becoming more stringent in the EU and other countries, and consumers expect greater protection and transparency from data collectors, stewards, and processors. Join this session to learn how organizations leverage the AICPA Generally Accepted Privacy Principle and SOC 2 attestation reporting to address these challenges.

Annual Shred Day Event

When: April 15, 2017 10:00AM-12:00PM *Come Rain or Shine
Where: Commerce Pointe Parking Lot
Address: 77 Michigan Ave. Battle Creek, MI 49017
Contact: Jim Craft (269) 969-2161

Event Description: Tis the season for Spring Cleaning! Bring any confidential paper to be shredded to our on-site mobile shredding truck.  We’re also collecting cash and non-perishable food donations for the Food Bank of South Central Michigan.  Avoid old, unneeded papers which create clutter or may fall into the hands of an identity thief.  Confidential shredding protects more than your name, it protects your identity.  Additionally, professional shredding services recycle paper, thus keeping waste out of landfills and reducing the need for cutting down trees for paper pulp.

This event is sponsored by the Western Michigan Chapter of ARMA and supported by its participating members, including Rapid Shred of Grand Rapids.  ARMA International is a not-for-profit association on managing records and information.  Contact James Craft at 269-969-2161 for further information regarding this event.

Price: Instead of a fee, just bring non-perishable food donations or cash donations for the food bank of South Central Michigan.

Parking Information: From I-94 take M-66 North.  M-66 becomes Division St. at the first light.  Continue to the third light and turn left into the parking lot on the right (across the street from the police department parking lot). Look for the big Rapid Shred Truck!
