Future of Accommodation 
The Future Accommodation Model (FAM) survey results have now been published. These will be used as part of the on-going policy development for the FAM, which will combine the survey with other results and Focus Group findings to refine the accommodation offer based on your feedback. E-bluey Cessation 
The MOD has announced that the E-bluey Service will be ending on 31 March, due to the rapid decline in usage. They've decided to reinvest all of the funds used for the E-bluey Service into the improvement of deployed welfare packages. We've had confirmation that there will remain a way for all Service personnel and their loved ones to stay in touch with each other and we'll keep you updated on the improvements that will be put in place once the e-bluey service ends. Deployment Support For Children

National Insurance Credits for Grandparents

MOD’s Veterans UK organisation, part of Defence Business Service, has launched a campaign to encourage service personnel, veterans and their families to get ‘pension ready’ there is also a Service to Civvy short guide available in support. Find out more here.

Recruit For Spouses 
Our Regional Liaison Officer for Scotland and Northern Ireland was delighted to attend the opening of Recruit for Spouses’ West of Scotland office in Helensburgh last month. Over the next year Recruit for Spouses will be making use of expert support to expand its services throughout Scotland by becoming more visible, creating more opportunities for military spouses, hosting career-based workshops and rolling out further nation-wide recruitment drives.

Free Digital Skills Workshop 
There will be a free one day Digital Skills Workshop run by Freeformers and Recruit for Spouses at HMS Collingwood on 28 February, where you’ll be able to build an app from scratch. Child care facilities are available from Naval Under Fives. Parents4Parents North Yorks 
"Take Our Words For It” is a new project run by Parents4Parents North Yorks, which is bringing together parents from military and civilian families who know how hard becoming a parent and being a parent can be, to share and record their experiences of expecting and looking after their children. If you are interested in attending their introductory workshop 1030-1200 on Friday 17 February, just call or text 07749 420 833 or 07864 502 301 to book your place.

 

Smart Works- Interview Clothes 
Smart Works is a UK charity that provides high quality interview clothes, styling advice and interview training to any woman with a confirmed interview. They give women the confidence, the self-belief and the practical tools they require to succeed at interview and start a new chapter of their life. Find out more here. 

 

New CarillionAmey Housing Portal 
CarillionAmey (CA) will be launching their new Intranet based SFA application system for Service Family Accommodation (SFA) in the UK at 08:30 on Monday 6 March 2017 as part of their new online ‘housing portal’. Read more here. 

Supporting Service Pupils Moving Schools

The Directorate Children and Young People (DCYP) have put together a downloadable resource aimed at Service families and welfare staff as well as professionals within schools and local authorities. The aim is to share good practice and open people’s eyes to the opportunities and challenges that exist for Service children. Find out more here. 

AWS Re:Start - Free Training

Amazon Web Services (AWS) have launched a programme, called AWS re:Start aimed at providing training and potential employment opportunities for Service leavers, spouses, veterans, reserves and cadets. Find out more here.
