Advocacy Corner- make a difference for #BikeDC!
February is a busy month for DDOT- and your participation is crucial! So many things going on…
The RI Ave Streetscape meeting took place on Tuesday, and alas, no on-street bike facilities are on the proposal despite being part of the MoveDC plan. Let them know this is not okay!
Coming up this month are meetings on the Alabama Ave. Safety Study, a Tactical Urbanism forum for North Capitol St., the Florida Ave Safety Study, & the New York Ave Streetscape project (that includes a trail!). Attending these meetings is often the best way to provide input, so get out there if you can!
DDOT also released reports on the Eastern Downtown Protected Bike Lane (which delays the project for another year at least) and Mayor Bowser’s Vision Zero Initiative (which lowers the proposed fines for driving infractions & includes new penalties for #BikeDC). Your feedback is needed to ensure that the roads are safe for cyclists (and everyone else)!
