BISHOP'S PEAK SCHOOL NEWSLETTER
February 8, 2017

Dear Parents and Guardians-

Last Friday evening we received word that our sixth grade study trip to Yosemite was postponed due a Norovirus outbreak at the camp we attend in Yosemite.  This same virus has impacted schools throughout California.  Although our students were disappointed with this news, the positive attitude and flexibility they have shown has blown me away.  As our students move on to middle school, high school, college and careers, their positive attitudes and ability to adapt to change will be tremendous assets to them.  A positive attitude gets the work done and motivates others to do the same without dwelling on the challenges that inevitably come up in any task or job. It is the enthusiastic student who creates an environment of good will and who provides a positive role model for others. Each person possesses their own set of strengths and adapting personal behaviors to accommodate
others is part of what it takes to work effectively as a team.  In addition to the students' flexibility, I want to thank our sixth grade staff for their support with this sudden change.  We are in communication with the camp and transportation providers and we hope to announce our new camp dates soon.  Again, kudos to our sixth graders, I am extremely proud of them all.

Have a Great Week-

Dan Block
Principal

A-Buck-a-Book and Penny Wars is coming soon.  Both will be held during Parent-Teacher Conference Week, March 6-10th and we need your help to get ready. Plastic bins will be in front of the office starting February 21st to collect all your gently-used books and puzzles.

Also, classroom teams will battle it out to see who can collect the most pennies without losing them to bills and larger coins!

If you would like to help with this event, please send an email to Leah Nielsen atLeahfnielsen@gmail.com.
