Kalle Kaivola joins remote control productions
Former Senior Executive at Next Games and Rovio Entertainment hired as Chief Operating Officer

Munich, February 9, 2017 – remote control productions (rcp) continues to strengthen their senior management team and is very pleased to announce the appointment of Kalle Kaivola for the newly created role of COO. He will serve as a member of the executive leadership team at rcp together with CEO Hendrik Lesser and CFO Christian Kleissl.  In his role, Kalle will focus on advancing the existing studios of the rcp developer family, help set up and support new teams, improve the quality of the games and the progress of the teams. Working across all departments within rcp, he will be a champion for the teams, the content and an ambassador of the rcp idea.

An outgoing, dynamic business leader with more than a decade of experience in the videogames industry, Kalle was Head of Licensed Games at Next Games where he worked on games such as "The Walking Dead: No Man's Land". Prior to Next Games, he held senior roles at Rovio Entertainment, where he was in charge of setting up their publishing program and external development, first as Director Development and later as Senior Vice President, Product and Publishing.

"Kalle helped shaping the rcp family before even joining, when he worked with us to create Angry Birds Epic at Rovio Entertainment, which is arguably our biggest success by now," comments Hendrik Lesser, CEO remote control productions. "Over the years, Kalle has not just become a trusted business partner, but a close friend – I couldn't be happier to have him now join us in a role that will improve and develop our family from now on."

"Looking back these last few years, the game industry is changing more rapidly than ever - not only are platforms coming and going but even business models," says Kalle Kaivola. "I've always loved the rcp idea of a family of developers pooling their strengths, and thriving together as a strong community while staying independent. Looking forward, it is the passionate and the nimble that are best poised to take advantage of whatever the future brings. I couldn't be happier in being part of this undertaking."

Founded in 2005, the remote control productions family now consists of 18 teams from Germany, Austria and Finland, including 15 development studios, the gamification unit Gamify now and the in-house publisher GAMESinFLAMES and has produced 75 games on six platforms that were published globally by more than 20 partners and played by over 150 million people.
