ISC Tuesday Keynote : Forecasting the Future Role of HPC in Weather and Climate Prediction
In the keynote address on June 20th, Dr. Peter Bauer, who is the Deputy Director of Research Department Center at European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), will underline the role HPC plays in the very pressing topic of weather and climate prediction, and also reveal the ambitions ECMWF has for exascale computing.
Bauer will address over 3,000 conference attendees on the existing challenges in this domain, specifically the computing and data challenges, as well as the current avenues the weather and climate prediction community is taking in preparing for the new computing era.
