March 4 - Nostalgia: works by inspirational Australia women, at The Rose Room, Burradoo (3pm)
Nostalgia is a concert of piano music of early twentieth century Australian women composers presented by pianist Jeanell Carrigan. Australian women composers of the early twentieth century were few and those whose names were known had very little chance of their works being published, or even performed. To remedy this, now in the early twenty-first century, extensive research was undertaken to unearth a plethora of manuscripts through painstaking patience by the pianist and educator, Dr Jeanell Carrigan. In November 2016, 28 of these works were recorded and released on a CD titled Nostalgia, later to become CD of the week on ABC Classic FM.

March 5 - "Crucifixion" A Cantata by Sir John Stainer, at St Judes, Bowral (3pm)

March 11 - Thoroughbass Presents: Young Handel, Cantatas and Sonatas, at The Rose Room, Burradoo (4pm)
Stimulated by the atmosphere of the patrons who encouraged and supported him, Handel produced vast quantities of cantatas during his youthful days in Italy. Though not regularly performed today, they often formed the basis of arias within his much more well-known operas and oratorios. Together with sonatas for viola da gamba and harpsichord suites from this period, they demonstrate the bounty of the young man Handel’s fertile imagination. With Anna Fraser (soprano), Shaun Ng (viola da gamba, theorbo) and Diana Weston (harpsichord). Wine and canapes follow. Bookings online: $30/25 (don’t forget to click the Free shipping for events).
