This week was the 33rd annual running of the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon. On Sunday afternoon Karla and I watched the teams come into the Finland checkpoint.  One of the teams was Siberian Huskies. I think they are some of the most beautiful dogs and definitely my favorite to photograph.

The dogs were pretty excited coming into the checkpoint and appeared like they didn’t want to stop. Sled dogs love to run. The marathon is a lot of fun for spectators also as there are many places along the trail to watch the dogs.

The winner of the marathon was Ryan Anderson. His total trail time to cover the 370 miles was 44 hours.
