A Case To Consider
This little guy's parents reached out to me early in October because of his eczema. What an extreme case he was, literally covered from head to toe. "E" was a c-section birth and had been treated 3x with antibiotics in his first year of life. (Knowing what we know now about the microbiome, I am sure we will have some work ahead even once the skin has cleared.)

Of course our first steps were
Silver Birch Sap Gemmotherapy, a raw fruit breakfast, and elimination of all dairy products from his diet. In 3 weeks, Mom reported 50% improvement. Healing of his skin continued and after two months I suggested the addition of Black Currant to see if we could get the last stubborn patches to heal with no effect. Worth noting is that he was also now having one bowel movement daily, which is a big improvement over one every three days. Just last week we added a dose of European Blueberry hoping to stimulate the bowel elimination further. So, for now, his the protocol looks like this:
  • Silver Birch Sap & Black Currant; 8 drops each in the AM & Midday
  • A slow start European Blueberry; 2 drops with his evening meal
Stay tuned as I'll be reporting back next month on his progress!
Fundamental Fact
As some of you may know, I recently released a matured Stage One Intake Checklist. After two years of putting the original intake form to the test, it was time for some updates. My new version supports the true hierarchy in Gemmotherapy extract selection for Stage One which looks like this:
  1. What is the predominant type of bowel elimination? If your client exhibits symptoms of the skin, sinuses, or genital candida double check their responses as these are clear indications the bowels are not cleaning optimally.
  2. What is the current state of vitality? Each question on the checklist is critical, frame them as you ask and realize that some are direct observation. Keep in mind vitality will increase throughout Stage One as elimination improves.
  3. Are there additional symptoms to consider for an accessory extract? This extract can be added after a week or two; after you have established the first extract selected is correct.
  4. Where is the current inflammation experienced? In drainage work, the inflammation will move so monitor closely and adjust the protocol if symptoms of inflammation become acute.
If you know the above and follow it precisely, keeping to this order of priority, your selection of extracts will be spot on.

This week we received an interesting email from a mom in San Antonio who, some time ago, was given a cough syrup from her Naturopath that included Lithy for her 18 month old young son's chronic cough and the results were amazing! After that, this mom went online where she found my blog and began using our acute protocols for allergy and cough with equally good results.

She contacted us because now having seen the power of Gemmotherapy, she was sure there was a protocol to resolve the chronic underlying problem! I think this is a great testament to the idea of sharing Gemmotherapy for acute symptoms with friends, clients, and family members to get their long term buy in.

I'll definitely be following up with the mom and her son in my practice very soon.
