What does it mean to be a citizen under the government Jesus has inaugurated?

This week we will look at Kingdom Citizenship and explore what it means to be a “citizen” under the new government which Jesus has brought. To do so we will look at a selection of the parables Jesus teaches. The parables of Jesus are a major emphasis in each of the Gospel accounts wherein He reveals hidden truths about God, Himself and our relationship to Him. In some ways Jesus’ parables function almost like a mirror in front of our face – they reveal what is really there, whether for good or ill!  READ FULL POST

Missionary of the Month
Loren and Kensey Ledebuhr

Loren and Kensey Ledebuhr work with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Papua New Guinea. The Ledebuhrs help support Bible translation in this country with over 800 spoken languages. Their children are Leighton and Brystin.  

PRAYER REQUESTS:
  • Please be in prayer for the family's transition back to Papua New Guinea after their furlough in Kansas.  Their jobs have changed while they were gone and pray for the kids' transition back to school.  Pray for laughter instead of frustration.
  • Pray their new habits would continue to bear fruit.

Wednesday Nights :: Wednesdays :: 6:30-8p
  • Kids Club // Any 1st-5th Grader is invited to come for a lively, fun environment focusing on friendships and living out the Christian life with biblical principles! A large group time with music, skits, fun games and Bible lessons is followed by small group activities, with caring and consistent leaders. Meet in the Fellowship Hall.
  • Kids JAM // Kids JAM is a lively, fun environment with activities specific for children who are PreK-Kindergarten. You won't wanna miss what is in store for you on these Wednesday nights! Meet in Rooms 105 & 106.

Community Announcements
  • MomsCONNECT :: Tues., March 7 :: 9-11a :: Covenant Church
    All moms are invited for connection time, food, an activity and speaker! MomsCONNECT meetings are FREE to attend and offer FREE childcare for birth-PreK. The theme is "Life on Purpose: Lessons from Women in the Bible."
  • Community Church Camp: Scholarship Applications
    • Scholarship applications will be taken on Thur., April 6 from 4 to 7 pm and Sat., April 8 from 10 to Noon at the Common Ground Building. THESE ARE THE ONLY TWO DATES TO APPLY.
    • Any student who wishes to attend a summer church camp can apply. A parent or guardian is encourage to attend with an applicant. The application requires the name of their chosen camp, what the camp dates are and the costs involved.
    • Although we encourage family and friends of applicants to help with the funding of their camper, it is not a requirement for a scholarship. 
       
  • Flint Hills Foster Teen Camps at Living Water Ranch near Olsburg, KS are seeking volunteers for their summer camps. Anyone 21 years of age or older who feels led to pursue this opportunity should contact Director Lisa Irvin at 785.410.2995 soon. For more information, visit www.fhftc.org.
