Happy Tuesday!!

Hello Beautiful <<First Name>>

There is nothing more beautiful than a person filled with self-love and confidence. Self-love helps us feel that we are loved and endearing, that the whole of us is - not just the parts that we think meet societal standards.

If you're like most of us, your head will sometimes float with nudges of self-doubt. It can be hard to rid yourself of them, but it is important to do so.

Self-love is a crucial (and sometimes long) ongoing practice. The more that you reject yourself, the more that you will fear being rejected by others. Self-acceptance is love and by loving yourself, you are opening yourself to love others as well. You cannot be fearful and hope that things will go well.

It takes time to build your self-love and appreciation, but you can do this! Starting today, try some of these steps and your self-love will grow.

  1. Start by validating your feelings. It's okay to have some mind chatter (even negative!) once in a while. You just don't want negative self-talk to overtake your life.
  2. Find something about yourself that you usually criticize and search out a way to compliment it. Be grateful for what you have and who you are. Write down these compliments on stickies to put in a place that you'll see daily and let your collection of love and positivity grow!
  3. Practice self-care and commit to your physical health - work out regularly (exercise increases endorphins!), cut back on drinking, get enough sleep, and eat well.
  4. Spend time pampering yourself. Get a massage or take a hot bath. Go to bed early.
  5. Set healthy boundaries and cancel energy-zapping plans. Start saying "NO" when you really don't want to do something.
  6. Say thank you to compliments instead of deflecting them. Women especially are notorious for saying sorry, but how often do you just simply say, "Thank you." Make it a habit to say at least 20 times a day! I know it feels like a lot, but work your way up to it!
  7. Look at how far you've come. Right now, take a piece of paper and write down three things that you've accomplished that you never thought that you would.
All of this will help you see the authentic side of yourself. As Louise Hay stated, "You have been criticizing yourself for years, and it hasn't worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens."

I hope you enjoyed your long weekend and took some time for self-love!

xoxo
