Welcome to the Autumn 2017 edition of Spirit news!

Oh, the joy of painting again! It's pure heaven. Truly. It's like a part of my soul has let out a deep sigh. Nothing quite gets me into a deep communion with Spirit like painting intuitively does and this year, I hope to share so much more of the process and rewards with you. A friend posed a question to me at the start of the New Year: If there's one thing you could do for yourself this year to bring you joy, what would it be? And painting came straight to mind. The connection I feel to my soul when I paint is pure joy - it's heaven on canvas!

To creative intuitively is the surest way to get in touch with a part of yourself which is truly authentic. Like me, you can go to your creativity as you would your church, temple or sanctuary for insight and inspiration. If you feel there may be something missing from your everyday life, look to that, look to having a creative relationship with your spiritual self. What is your creative talent and where can you fit more of it into your life?

Ask me!
Linda, what are the stages of integrating an STE?

Ordinarily, near-death experiences (NDEs) or spiritually transformative experiences (STEs) are studied as individual events even if the one person has had multiple experiences over time. For instance, my STEs would commonly be looked at as different events but I perceive it as a singular spiritual event, a rebirthing spanning some twenty years, with sub-parts.

There are four main stages to a spiritual rebirth event which I have observed through my integration process:

  1. Awakening
  2. Healing
  3. Expansion
  4. Integration

Stages one and two are the beginning phases (empowerment). Stage three is the middle (processing) and stage four is the end (resolution). During stage one an experiencer wakes up to a new consciousness or reality. Stage two results in a deep healing of past hurt (the false notion of separation from God-self) and the enlivening of spiritual purpose.

In stage three, the experiencer, having been downloaded with an abundance of spiritual energy during stage one, experiences multiple awakenings and healings. This may play out as more STEs and/or a compulsive and insatiable quest for spiritual knowledge and the acquisition of new skills and abilities.

Stage four occurs when the experiencer completely accepts their expanded reality and change of life focus and begins to live daily from their spiritual truth. It is the manifestation of heaven on earth. No longer does the experiencer seek acknowledgement or verification from others because they have sourced it from within. They gain personal fulfillment by being of service to others.

The stages may be completed within one lifetime and often over many. If completed within one lifetime it is because a person has been through part or all of the integration process in previous lifetimes. An experiencer who doesn't integrate the seemingly sudden surge of their consciousness in form, in one lifetime, will do so in another.

An after-death communication come true
Julienne, an Australian near-death experiencer and medium shared with me a number of fascinating experiences she had over many years, one of which is described in my popular post, What's a spiritually transformative experience? Here is another of her accounts, in her own words, this time, an after-death communication and reincarnation story:

Aunty Pat was my father's only sibling. She had been dead for a few years and I was living at a place called Camira Creek, New South Wales, in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by state forest. I was asleep one night when I woke up to hear her asking me to go outside. I got up and went out and saw a vision of her but really tall like a big statue.

She had always been a really beautiful woman but in her later years, she was overweight. I now saw her as slim and looking to be in her twenties. She was wearing a 40s style suit which my mother later told me was a suit Pat had made from an ex-air force uniform, after the war. Apparently, they did this as the fabric was scarce. She looked lovely.

Aunty Pat must have read my mind. She was a bit huffy and told me that she hadn't always been fat, so why would she appear like that? She then held a baby boy in her arms and told me this is how she was coming back soon. She was going to be born to her only son, my cousin named Patrick and his wife. I told Aunty Pat that Patrick's wife didn't want kids and she laughed and said, "Too bad!"

A few years later, I was passing through Darwin and waiting in line at the post office to pick up my mail when Patrick tapped me on the shoulder. I never realised he was in Darwin but he was living and working there. He told me he had a son named Timothy. I ended up staying a few days at his place and meeting Tim who was three. The timing was right so I knew he was the boy Aunty Pat had shown me.

I never saw Timothy again, although, I saw Patrick a few times until he was here in NSW going to a play that a mutual relative had written and was performing in. He had cancer and was in remission. He looked very striking and had a wonderful, peaceful air about him. I could see light all around him and realised he would die soon although he didn't think he would. He died not long after in China.

My latest creative project begins!
I will be making my spiritual awakening poetry available to you as a free ebook in the next few months. I'm currently at the 'sifting through' stage of deciding on which poems to include in my first poetry book. And, yes, there will be a second. Once I complete this, I'll write the poems up into a template I've purchased through The Book Designer and have it edited, and then the very fun bit, choose a title and organise a cover design. I'll share the whole process with you, either here or on my blog. Hopefully, it'll inspire your creativity too.

And, now, I want to share a lovely poem with you which I wrote about one of my very favourite spiritual places on earth. Enjoy!

YALLINGUP

I was told, I had come to a place of love
Had I not met with her golden hair, on this day
I would have felt her, anyway
For in the sky, her eyes, they stare at me
As I walk, she follows me from behind
I know her as I count the sands, how deep she stands
As I retreat from her tears, so sweet
I know her kiss has touched my lips, salt-sweet
And, in the coast, there is another side to her tortured smile
If it were not for her elegance, and majesty
I would be overcome by her raw mystery
And, though, she holds me in her breath
I find myself, alone, with words
For she speaks to me, without a tongue
Thus, I dream to know her thoughts
And, as her brow sweeps her eyes, goodbye
I know that love is in my eyes.

Book review - Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson
A Story of Justice and Redemption > Do yourself a big favour and get a copy of Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson. Order it or borrow it but just get it into your hands. I simply couldn't put it down, once I did, and I can't stop thinking about it now. It grows you. It's one of those books that shines a powerful light into the most ignorant and indifferent recesses of our collective conscious. If you've ever thought: I'm just one person, and I can't do very much to make this tired, old world any better, then think again. Stevenson is a modern day hero, strong in spirit, and yet he is just one man - who through a dedicated daily focus on social justice is advancing the true value of life and compassion.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ A fantastic read!
