  • Collection Management Assistant, Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC
    • In keeping with the Museum's mission of cataloguing and documenting the works in our care, the Department of Drawings and Prints seeks a full-time Collections Management Assistant. The Collections Management Assistant will function as an integral member of a team cataloguing the department’s holdings of 1.3 million works on paper and creating corresponding records in The Museum System (TMS) database. Serving as a liaison between the Collections Management Coordinator, the growing cataloging team, and the department curators, the Assistant will serve a crucial role in training and working with the cataloging team on a daily basis. In addition, the Assistant will help in the department’s ongoing TMS data cleanup efforts.
  • Multimedia Literacy Librarian, George Mason University, Fairfax VA
    • This position is responsible for providing library services in the areas of reference, research, and instruction in support of faculty and students in the Film and Video Studies and Dance departments; and developing corresponding library collections. The position, part of the Arts and Humanities Team, reports to the Head, Gateway Library on the Fairfax campus and works in an ever-changing public service environment. 
  • Video Project Archivist (Freelance), Refinery29, NYC
    • Refinery29 is looking for an extremely organized, enthusiastic and creative Project Archivist to index media assets in our Digital Asset Management software. The Project Archivist will be working with a range of digital file types, including design, photo and video formats. The position entails researching and indexing our current visual archived assets into the new system and all that encompasses; including working within a predetermined workflow process, researching and assigning creation metadata, associating contractual data via DRM profiles and tagging according to a pre-existing taxonomy.
  • Special Collections Metadata Librarian, University of Nevada Las Vegas, Las Vegas NV
    • Reporting to the Head of Digital Collections, the Special Collections Metadata Librarian ensures that Special Collections' digital assets are discoverable. Working closely with faculty and staff in Special Collections and across the UNLV University Libraries, the Special Collections Metadata Librarian leads metadata creation and management for digital projects, oversees metadata clean-up and migration projects, selects data models and standards, and maintains metadata documentation. The incumbent develops efficient metadata workflows, provides technical training and consultations, manages controlled vocabularies, performs authority control, ensures metadata is interoperable across systems, and leads the adoption of linked data for digital assets.
  • Digital Librarian/Project Manager, 24|Seven, Seattle WA
    • The digital librarian will be responsible for organization, accessibility and preservation of the digital asset library, allowing the business to find and access assets in a simple and efficient manner. You will develop methods for managing content and metadata that are rigorous and scalable. You will work closely with stakeholders to capture business requirements and will plan and coordinate technical work and special projects. As digital librarian you will also train library users, vet system bugs and configure system preferences.
  • Visual and Performing Arts Librarian, Florida State University, Tallahassee FL
    • The Visual and Performing Arts Librarian will work collaboratively with academic faculty and librarians to develop and provide consultative, instructional, and outreach services to faculty and students in the College of Fine Arts; evaluate, select, and review information resources to support curricula and research; and support faculty scholarship and publication. This position is based in the Scholars Commons, a department that works closely with faculty and graduate students.
  • Museum Database and Collections Assistant, Colorado State University, Fort Collins CO
    • We are looking for an organized individual who will, under the supervision of the Senior Curator, conduct artifact record entry and manage data within The Naval History and Heritage Command’s (NHHC) artifact database. This position is located at the Defense Supply Center in Richmond, Virginia. Over the past three years, access to the Navy collections management database has been extremely limited, resulting in a large artifact record backlog. The Museum Database and Collections Assistant will be responsible for creating new artifact catalog records from pre-existing hardcopy/digitized records in an MS Access Database and/or K EMu collections management system. This will include but is not limited to data entry, high-resolution photo editing, and collection records management. This position will also assist the Senior Curator with a variety of data management tasks.
  • Digital Project Archivist (part-time/temp), The Seamen's Church Institute, NYC
    • Design a digital platform to facilitate digital collaboration with other New York Maritime heritage organizations
    • Develop a new Omeka platform to host digital content
    • Review existing technical metadata, and draft a digitization manual for best practices.
    • Develop data visualization tools.
    • Review and revise existing descriptive metadata.
    • Assist and lead digital archives workshops with collaborative partners
  • Transcription Coordinator (part-time/temp), New York Botanical Garden, NYC
    • The Transcription Coordinator will work 21 hours per week and will recruit, train and manage local volunteers and crowdsourced volunteers. The Transcription Coordintator will describe the project and its goals in ways that stimulate the interest of potential volunteers. These volunteers will transcribe the digitized, handwritten papers of John Torrey, a prominent, early American botanist.

    • The position serves as the Director of Digital and Emerging Media for the museum. The position reports directly to the Director of the Museum and works closely with the Senior Management Team, CHSDM Board of Trustees, and supervises a team of information, digital, and media technology specialists providing strategic vision and operational support.
