THE BUILDING IS GOING UP QUICKLY
The new UCHS School Building is quickly taking shape. The floor has been poured and the roof has been installed. It will soon be shelled in, so the weather will not be able to affect construction. The anticipated completion date is the end of July, so it should be ready for the new school year. Thank you to everyone who donated to make this new building a reality.
MEETING FOR RISING SENIORS AND THEIR PARENTS
There is a meeting for rising Seniors (present Juniors) and their parents on Monday, Feb. 27 to discuss the college application process.  Mrs. Hamblin and Mrs. Bedder will be presenting information and timelines on when your child should have certain items completed as they apply to different universities.  The meeting starts at 6:30 pm in Belk Centrum.

DRONE NEEDED
The Building Committee is looking for someone with a drone who can take pictures of our new school building from the air.   If you are able to help us with this need, please contact the school office.  Thank you.
DEBATE TEAM
Mr. Jerry Willard took the Debate Team of Charlee Sherrill and Brock Pate to a Debate Tournament in Greenville, SC.  With over 26 teams competing, this UCHS Debate Team
took third place.
HOBY CONFERENCE
UCHS is pleased to announce that Tommy Little and Samantha Swisher were selected to attend the HOBY State Leadership Seminar in June.  The HOBY’s mission is to inspire and develop our global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service, and innovation.
The UCHS Marketing Team is updating the UCHS website.  It is always helpful for our parents to let us know if you can’t access something or feel something is missing.  Just let Mr. U. know about the problem.
Did you know that there is a wealth of information about College Planning on the Student Services page under the
College Prep tab?
WINTER SPORTS WRAP-UP: BASKETBALL
The Varsity Girls and Boys Basketball teams had successful seasons with more wins than any time in UCHS history.  The Girls Team had a record of 7-8 and the Boys finished 6-10.  Allie Deese and Adele Sharpe were selected to the Conference All-Star Team.  These are the first two UCHS basketball players to be honored in this way.  Freshman Claire Tomlinson and Junior Caleb Watson were honored with the SPAA Conference Christian Character Awards.   This was also the first year we fielded a Boys JV Basketball Team which ended with a record of 4-6.  This team allowed all of the boys who tried out to be a part of a team.   Thank you to Coaches Deborah Congro, Jamel Walker, and Ron Shuford for coaching our UCHS basketball teams.

SWIMMING
Our UCHS Swim Team completed their second season.  Despite practicing on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 am, the team has grown; and next year should bring even more success.  Tommy Little and Sadie Texer were medalists in the All-County Swim Meet, the SPAA Conference Meet, and Tommy placed 4th and 6th in the State Swim Meet.  Sadie was unable to swim in the state meet due to an injury. Alex Morrow and Nicholas Pelletier were honored as SPAA Conference Christian Character Award winners.  Thank you to Meaghan Texer for coaching the UCHS Swim Team.
