Dear Sisters, Associates and Sojourners,

The number of 'urgent advocacy needed' alerts grows! There is, seemingly, no end in sight! However, we stay focused, primarily on stopping the deportation of immigrants, supporting the sanctuary movement for immigrants and refugees, and addressing climate issues (DAPL, LAP and Paris Agreement).

We are really encouraged to call State Offices of Congressional Leaders while they are home for this President's Day holiday. Find contact info here.

PERHAPS, you'd like to host a gathering, inviting the Bishop, or priests, to a simple meal and have a conversation about where we stand by sharing our ASC U.S. Region's Immigration Statement. Our co-workers, collaborators and friends would probably welcome a time to share concerns, fears and hopes about 'where we are' on this issue. What a great Lenten sacrifice--to give up one afternoon or evening to promote safety for 'our dear neighbors,' the refugees!

The Latin American Working Group (LAWG) has provided talking points for letters and especially visits to elected officials around immigrants, refugees and Muslims and human rights. Remember: February 22 is #WeAreAllAmerica National Day of Congressional Action.
