Merging
The little guy pictured above arrived at GSF in his first 24 hours of life. You can read more about his story in the GSF News to be e-mailed shortly. What does that have to do with "Merging"?
The Gwartney family has served at Good Shepherd's Fold in Uganda for nearly 9 years. God has planted our lives here (though it's getting a little tricky as kids move off to college in the states!). With Mark serving as GSF Team Leader and Amy as Director of Child Care, our lives are more and more intertwined with the life and work of GSF.
Last year we stepped up the communications from GSF in order to keep our partners more in tune with all that takes place here. (This is one of Mark's primary duties.) Much of the time, the news our family wants to send out is the same as the GSF news. Therefore, we are including you, our friends and family, to receive our primary communications, which happens to be the GSF News e-mail updates. With MailChimp, we can still send personal updates to our personal contact list whenever we want.
Many of you already receive GSF News. This move will simply ensure that all of our family's supporters are receiving regular communications about the ministry.
The Gwartneys did not establish GSF, nor does it belong to us; it belongs to the Good Shepherd! We just want you to know more and more about what the Good Shepherd is doing here at GSF.
We want to add a big THANK YOU as well. Year-end gifts for both our family and for the GSF ministry were over-the-top which equips us all the more to grow the ministry. Words are not enough to say "Thank You!"
Movements
 Our friends at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta, Georgia are once again flying Mark to the states for their annual MOVE Missions Conference. This gives an opportunity to connect with family, friends and ministry partners in other places as well. Here is a quick look at his upcoming schedule:
- February 24 - fly from Uganda to the USA.
- February 25-28 - Tallahassee, FL
- March 1-5 - MOVE Conference in Marietta, GA
- March 6-9 - La Crosse, WI
- March 10-11 - Visit Caralina at Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, NY
- March 12-13 - Torrance, CA
- March 14 - San Diego, CA
- March 15 - Palm Desert, CA
- March 16 - San Juan Capistrano and Torrance, CA
- March 17 - Depart from LAX
- March 18 - Arrive back in Entebbe, Uganda
Please keep our family in prayer while Mark is in the states. Pray for grace and peace during our 3 weeks of separation. Pray also for the relationships with partners in the states to grow and be a mutual encouragement. Thank you!
