Relationships, whether they are personal or professional, need consistency to thrive.  Here are several ways to support and promote good solid relationships. .
Listening to others so they know you are present to them and hearing them, is one of the better ways of creating a solid and respected relationship. (Click here for the Listening Test)
Respect other people’s experience.  If fact, comment on their experience and ask questions about their experience.  People love telling their stories – you will learn information that is golden organizational wisdom.
Be supportive to others – remove your doubts and judgements of them.  People need to know they are supported – tell them, ask them, show them.
Be honest when asked questions about another’s performance. Your honesty should help them get to be more confident. If there is a flaw, be gentle and helpful on how they can change and why the change would be valuable. 
Learn to accept flaws in others – everyone can make a mistake.  If the mistake is hurting effectiveness, let them know and give suggestions on how they can shift and change.
Be sure to get what you deserve and inspire others to do the same.  It is hard to be in a good solid relationship when you do not feel respected and supported yourself.
Go the extra space and mile for the project; person; situation; team; organization; boss; co-worker.  Show them you care.
Be sure you are in the moment and know your goals. If you know what you need and want, you can contribute to others in a big way – you also will get credit for caring and mentoring.
