You'll never know unless you ask.
This is my new motto. Old words with a strong meaning.

First of all, don't worry parents, it's status quo. My art students are still at my home studio!
In December I approached the leaders at West Acres Mall with a proposition. I had researched artist-in-residence programs around the country and found that there were none offered in a mall. I was met with very positive responses so I wrote a proposal with a mission statement, what would be expected from the artist, and what would gained overall. My proposal was accepted almost immediately. Before long, I am moving into half of what was formerly the NY&Co space.
Here's what this means for me. New tenants will occupy the space in early 2018 so I have 6 months to be in the space. It is all white, very well lit, has large store-front visibility, and tons of storage space. This is so magical!
It's working studio so anyone is welcome to come in and watch me work whenever my studio is open. It's a perfect learning opportunity and a great chance to ask questions.
There will also be a small gallery of art for sale. I will be mostly focusing on creating bodies of work for several upcoming shows and welcoming people into the studio.
Please plan on visiting me at the beautiful West Acres Mall!
