- Horton Classic Car Museum
- First Annual Members Meeting
Coyote Drive-In
- Member Renewals & Upcoming Events

Woohoo! We have now officially made it through our first year. Thank you to our members & Officers for your contributions and hard work. A non-profit is only able to thrive if willing participants donate their time and resources. Speaking of thriving we have a few events coming up soon so keep scrolling.
We're only a week away from 2017's first Road Trip, Classic Cars and & Fried Catfish. Please join us on February 25th 9am-2pm for a Road Trip to The Horton Classic Car MuseumMcGehee Catfish Luncheon.

The Horton Classic Car Museum is housed in what once was the town's Ford dealership. Over 135 cars are contained in the collection, which largely focuses on American vintage, classic and muscle cars. Over 40 Corvettes are part of the collection, featuring nearly every year of production between 1953 and 1978. Several 1950's era convertibles are also included, along with many 1950s Senior Award winners from the Chevy and Pontiac Nationals. Different models of Chevrolets, Fords, Pontiacs, Packards, Plymouths, Oldsmobiles and even a Studebaker are featured in the collection, which is always changing and growing.

Admission to Horton Classic Car Museum:
Adults: $12,
Seniors: $10 (ages 65 & older),
Kids: $8 (under age 8 are free),
Veterans, Military Personnel, Police & Firemen: Free with valid I.D.

After Horton, we'll take winding Farm-to-Market and Oklahoma State Roads to get to McGehee Catfish, arriving between 1-1:30pm.

McGehee is known for their all-you-can-eat catfish dinner and we understand there are other items on their menu (though we've never tried any of them).

After lunch, you're on your own to get home, either direct or via a stop at the Ardmore Supercharger (twenty-three miles North on I-35).

Lunch at McGehee Catfish will cost about $13 plus drink & dessert.

Charging Logistics

The total distance from the Denton Supercharger is 166 miles. EVTripPlanner estimates 48 kWh to make the trip, which should put it in range for a 60 doing the speed limit. We've done this drive in an 85 without charging in Denton at all.

If you do need or want to charge in Denton, arrive early and join us for coffee and donuts.

Year One:

We've made it through our club's first official year! (imagine confetti and balloons dropping here) Congratulations to all of us!!!  None of this would be possible without the founding members. It's the dedication and enthusiasm of our Founding Members, Regular & Associate Members, Friends of NTTOG & Officers that help us continue grow. Also a big THANKS to Rick Bollar (and his family for allowing us access to Rick at all hours of the day and some late nights),Teresa Schaefer & Jay Squyres for organizing, coordinating and putting a massive amount of work into making us what we are today.

One of the best parts of our group is the diversity & enthusiasm that we all share. At the members' meeting we all had different stories about how we became familiar with Tesla and Elon Musk, but there was a common theme. Nearly everyone was passionate about the uncompromising effort Musk & Tesla have put forth to change the world for the better. And of course how tech-filled and fast the cars are too...

It can be hard to get a group of people to agree on most things; so when an idea or product comes around that unites people from all walks of life, it is special. Moving into NTTOG's 2nd year, we as a club look forward to growing and continuing to meet with new and current enthusiasts for social, technical, environmental and other get-togethers!

Bring your Tesla and join us at the Coyote Drive-In for a double feature!

We’re going to the *NEW* Coyote Drive-In in Lewisville. They have four screens and show double-features on each screen every night. The gates open at 5:30 pm and the movies start after dark (between 8:45 & 9:00pm). There is a restaurant with pizza, burgers, hot dogs, etc. and a fairly extensive beer list.

It was really hot when we tried this last year in June. We’re hoping late March will be comfortable enough that we won’t have a lot of engines running.

Arrive early and enjoy the early evening with your Tesla friends! See the movies you want and come when you like! Arrive by 7:30pm for best locations, parking next to other Teslas and plenty of time to enjoy the pre-movie twilight.

Meet us at the centrally-located Coyote Canteen for pre-movie drive-in food, beer and socializing.

All you need to do is let us know how many of you are coming (so we can organize enough space for us all to be together at the Canteen).

Don't forget your lawn chairs!

Important Information:

  • As we have quite a few reservation holders and members waiting to receive delivery of their Tesla in our group; NTTOG wants to make sure you know you're welcome and encouraged to our events and meetings. Come early to events in which we are driving to hitch a ride with a member with a Tesla. Or, drive your own car, and jump into our group shots too, but we may ask you to relocate your vehicle if it isn't a Tesla when we arrange a photo op. We are ALWAYS looking for that perfect Tesla photograph!

  • Membership Renewals are coming due soon. We have had to migrate to a new platform as we've grown. The new service is called joinit.co so expect to see email from them advising in advance when renewals are due. Email info@nttog.com if you are having any trouble in this migration and please let us know so we can help make it a smoother process.

  • If you have recently joined as a member or ordered a club badge and haven't yet picked it up at an event, contact us so we can coordinate getting your badge to you at an upcoming event.

(hint: It is a good idea to keep your badges in your glove box to have them handy when attending club functions or when you are representing the club.)
