Makes Me Think...version 3

Today we bring another edition of a previous website that provokes all sorts of thoughts and emotions upon reading. It’s called MMT or Makes Me Think.  The site had people write in all sorts of events that occur in life that happen to them, causing deep thought. Many are life’s ‘reality checks’  forcing us to slow down. Below are a few excerpts from the sight and what my thoughts were, after reading them. Those wanting to check out the site  http://MakesMeThink.com

1.)Today, I was in line at a hotdog stand that was selling hotdogs for charity for $2.50. A homeless man approached me and asked for a dollar toward a hotdog. I looked in my wallet and handed him a $5 bill– the smallest bill I had. He got in line behind me and bought two hotdogs. Then I watched as he excitedly gifted one to a homeless woman who was resting under a nearby tree. MMT.
Sharing...pass it on.

2.)Today, as I was waiting at a red light I saw an old woman with a cane helping a young man in a wheelchair cross a street that was riddled with potholes from road construction. MMT.
Like parenthood, older people never cease helping younger people.

3.)Today, as I was shopping I almost walked by an old man who was standing outside in the cold weather handing out fliers. As I slowed down, he told me that for a small donation he would give me a piece of his original poetry. He was saving up to have his poetry book bound and published. He was very close to making his dream come true. I gave him the spare change I had. MMT.
We are never too old to pursue our dreams, and the poem was beautiful.  Dream big. Keep pursuing. Age is just a number; that’s all.

4.)Today, my wife has been sober for 25 years. She stopped drinking the day she couldn’t remember giving me a black eye. It was a terrible struggle for her, but she did it. And now, after nearly 30 years of marriage, our relationship has never been stronger. MMT.
Beautiful story of second chances, and how forgiveness can yield terrific results.

Any of these make You think?
