Linda Atkins has opened Atkins Gallery in central Nelson, after returning from a ten year stint working in Greymouth.
The gallery director brings considerable experience from the gallery scene with her, having started Catchment Gallery on Bridge Street in 2004 with Wallace Sutherland. Then in 2007, Atkins moved to the West Coast to work at the Left Bank Gallery in Greymouth.
Situated in the Dowson's Arcade off Bridge St, the bright new gallery features a fine blend of regional artists, along with those from the West Coast, both emerging and established.
"I'd like to focus on more Nelson artists but also know a lot of artists from around the country," Atkins says.
