Want to help design a giveaway for our annual conference?

Have you attended our annual conference in previous years? Remember how small those coffee cups are? This year we are providing FREE, BIGGER coffee mugs and we want YOU to design the mug!

Just send in a JPG file of a design for a coffee mug (size can be negotiable) to Lauren at coordinator@michiganlean.org and we will compile all your designs and then let our membership vote for which one will be debuted at the 2017 MLC Annual Conference. Please send in entries by March 31.

Discussion Question: Should lean professionals use Japanese names for lean tools and techniques or their own language?

In researching lean and continuous improvement topics, this issue of using or not using the Japanese names for lean terms and has ignited debate with other lean communities. Some of the questions include:

Does using another language promote waste within a system of learning and development?
Is it efficient or effective for the process?
Does this eliminates or adds waste when using other languages?
What is the standard industry practice for lean names?
