Accounting Basics

Wednesday, February 22, 5:30 -  8:30 p.m.
A solid understanding of basic accounting principles is essential for any business owner to effectively communicate and interpret the financial results of their business. This entry-level course aimed at small business owners and prospective entrepreneurs will introduce you to basics business accounting concepts, while serving as a platform for understanding and applying concepts presented in other SBDC seminars related to business finances. This seminar is part of the Financial Literacy Track, a line-up of seminars designed to give you a quick way to understand the financials of your business. Join for the entire series! Visit the website to register.

State of the City

Thursday, March 9, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Join Mayor Adam Paul for his first State of the City speech, where he will cover highlights from the past year and outline his vision for the city’s future. In addition to the speech, this community luncheon raises funds for nonprofits in Lakewood. The event is 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on March 9 at the Sheraton Denver West, 360 Union Blvd. Tickets are available at StateoftheCity2017.org.

Government Affairs Committee

Friday, March 24, 7:30 - 9 a.m.
Join the GAC for an informational morning of learning from respected Colorado economist, Patty Silverstein. She will discuss the economic outlook after the first quarter of 2017. Breakfast burritos and coffee will be served. Cost is $10 per person. Register today.

Volunteer Fair

Are you looking for opportunities to serve and give back to the community? The Just Serve Volunteer Fair is bringing community and volunteers together from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 25 at 6465 W. Jewell Ave. Several agencies, including some of the following, will be at the fair to answer your questions: Jeffco Public Schools, the Action Center, Jeffco Open Space and more.
