The media are buzzing with political commentary.

People have taken to the internet and the streets to voice their frustrations. The most vulnerable in our communities are under attack, and we are all doing our best to figure out how to navigate this “post-truth” political climate.

“It’s easier to act our way into a new way of thinking than it is to think our way into a new way of acting,” as an old saying goes. We need action.

Protest is part of Phase 1 of the nonviolence escalation curve, but the world is telling us that now is the time to move to Phase 2: Satyagraha (aka direct action). What action can you take to obstruct the injustice and violence that has worked its way to center stage? Let's do this.

Practicing nonviolence within ourselves transforms us. Taking nonviolent action in our communities transforms the world. We can do this.

In peace and solidarity,
Soneile Hymn, Director of Flow

P.S. Are you an educator? If so, check out Joseph Gardella's post about meditation in schools. It outlines a beneficial way to take action.

Finding Truth

In our latest episode of Nonviolence Radio, we talk with Dr. Cynthia Boaz, an expert in nonviolent struggle and media. She joins us to discuss employing strategies and tools for nonviolent action in a time of “fake news” and “alternative facts.” Plus: Our "Nonviolence in the News" segment covers new resources in the field, local and worldwide events, and all of the nonviolence you won’t hear about in corporate media. Get the show replay.
