Mid-week Lenten Program:
“Together We Grow: Sharing Our Stories”
Wednesdays March 15, 22, 29 and April 5 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
We will gather for a light meal from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. (please contact Deacon Andrea if you are willing and able to help with meals). At 6:15 we will gather to hear from one of our own parishioners, and then conclude with Compline.
There is something powerful about learning and growing in our life with God through the practice of listening and holy storytelling. It assists us in discovering ways that God is moving in our own life and helps us to reflect upon what we have in common in our human experiences. Too often we, humanity, come together focusing on what makes us different. As the beloved human family of God, let us gather, let us learn, let us embrace the mystery that calls us together and calls us holy.
Episcopal 101: Adult Confirmation, Reception and Reaffirmation
During Lent this year I will be holding an Episcopal 101 series as a preparation for Confirmation, Reception into the Episcopal Church, and Reaffirmation of Baptismal Vows. This will lead up to our Bishop’s visit on Easter Sunday. The class will meet in the lounge on Sunday mornings, 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. on March 5, 12, 19, 26. Please RSVP to the church office if you are interested, and contact me directly if you have questions at interimrector@stthomasrochester.org. Amma Leslie+

Attitude of Gratitude
Late last week, I had the privilege of meeting Alfie Paasewe, son of Thomas Paasewe. He is a beautiful child of God! Alfie is the beloved child for whom we helped raise money to get to this country from Sierra Leone, Africa in order for him to get the medical care he needs. We’ve been praying for Alfie’s health, his safe arrival and for his family. I give thanks to God that Alfie and his mother, Angela are here. I give thanks to God for all your prayers and assistance. I ask that you continue to hold Alfie and his family in your prayers.
Giving thanks for our life together, Amma Leslie+

Prayer for Daily Life
Ash Wednesday
God of fasting and feasting, today we remember that in our living and in our dying we belong to you. You are our treasure and our promise. Bless this food and strengthen us to share all we have with others. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Last Call for Souper Sundays
Please lend a hand by bringing in a can of soup or a box of crackers for our last week of the Souper Sunday collection. Donations go to the Brighton Food Cupboard to address hunger and food insecurity for those in need. It is especially important for children and seniors to have a helping hand. Drop off your soup and crackers in the marked barrel at the Highland entrance.
Diocesan Mission Grants
The Grants Committee of the Rochester and Monroe Districts is pleased to consider new or ongoing parish projects for monetary awards. Special consideration is given to projects that:
- assist a parish in meeting a particular need in the community at a particular time.
- create an opportunity for increased congregational involvement in a particular ministry
- are innovative or unique to the parish making the request
The committee will be happy to assist with the grant writing process. The deadline for the current cycle of grants is April 20. If interested in learning more, please contact Connie Barker, St. Thomas’ Outreach Team Leader: petbarker@aol.com or 585-264-9488 for assistance and applications.
