Euthanasia & Assisted Suicide

Since assisted suicide was legalized in Canada in 2016, over 700 Canadians have had their lives prematurely ended by a doctor.  How do we talk about the issue of assisted suicide? What life-affirming resources are available in our community?  This resource e-mail has a variety of helpful links, but you are welcome to e-mail Guelph & Area Right to Life for more information if needed.

The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada writes about how we respond with life-affirming options such as palliative care when people around us are considering assisted suicide.  Read More.
Ministry: Compassionate Community Care
This pro-life ministry is comprised of health care professionals, advocates, and volunteers.  They can answer end-of-life questions, speak to those who are concerned about the care of a loved one, and offer practical assistance.  Learn More.
Action Item: Conscience Rights for Doctors
Medical professionals and faith groups have come together to advocate for conscience rights. Through March, they have a campaign to protect doctors who will not participate in assisted suicide. Learn More.

Film: The Euthanasia Deception
A new film from the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition explores the dangers of legalized assisted suicide, using examples from Belgium.  A DVD of this film is available to borrow from the Guelph & Area Right to Life library.  Read more.
