We're breaking ground! Join us at our upcoming work parties
With our License Agreement signed with the City of Vancouver and spring on its way, we are excited to begin breaking ground in the garden. We will be holding regular public work parties throughout the coming months as we establish the garden. More dates will be added soon, so please check back. Come meet the community and get your hands dirty!
Who: All work parties are open to the public and all ages, skill levels, and abilities are welcome. Bring friends and family!
What to bring: Come dressed for the weather to stay warm and dry; conditions in the garden are currently muddy and wet. If you have your own gardening gloves or tools (especially shovels and rakes) please bring them, but we will have some on hand.
Where: At Riley Park. We will meet by the flagpole near the southeast corner of E 30th Avenue and Ontario Street.
How: Please RSVP for any work parties you hope to attend so we can reach you in case inclement weather or site conditions force us to reschedule.

Come help out as we build up the garden's top soil and shape out the growing areas of the Riley Park Community Garden! We will be moving soil that has been delivered into the growing areas of the garden to form the beds. RSVP here or to info@rileyparkgarden.org.

Updates from recent meetings
On February 2nd, the Garden's Green Team met to discuss items such as our work parties, soil and amendments, garden building schedule, plant plans, and more. If you weren't able to make it, you can review the minutes here.
Last Saturday a group of community members came together for a charette to share ideas and engage in dialogue about the Serviceable Shed Project, which will be located in the garden and will serve as a hub to showcase the latest innovations in zero waste and sustainability while reflecting the needs of the community.
