Dear Reader,

I hope this day finds you well.

Here in Alberta the weather is warming up again, and today the great outdoors feels positively springlike even though snow still covers the ground.

I am writing now to let you know about three upcoming exhibitions in which my work will be showing.

First: Alberta's Exposure! Photography Festival is underway this month!  Every February, the photographic arts are celebrated in Alberta with many exhibitions and fun events.

During the Exposure! festival, Christine Klassen Gallery is showcasing Sarah Fuller's intriguing photographic works, and also showing photo-inspired work by gallery artists, including a piece by yours truly.
I will be attending the opening reception at CKG this Saturday, February 18 from 1-4pm, where Sarah will be giving an artist talk at 2pm.

Second, I am participating in the inaugural Group Nine exhibition of mostly abstract works by Calgary and near-to-Calgary painters and sculptors, which will take place at the Collector's Gallery in Inglewood.  Opening reception Thursday, March 2, 5:30 - 8:30pm.

Third: The Western GM Gallery in Drumheller, Alberta will be showing my work in April, 2017.  This small-town gallery is a surprisingly large and beautiful space. For my exhibition I'm doing something different: I'm creating an installation of small pieces with a capacity for movement, which will occupy the middle of the gallery.

The idea stems from an experience I had while participating in an artist residency a couple of years ago.

Thank you for reading, and I hope you have a very fine day!

Warm Regards,
Verna
