"Have you ever had a dream that was meant to be?"

If you've been on this journey of mine with me for some time, you'll know that singing/ songwriting has ALWAYS been my dream. Over the past weekend, I reached a new pinnacle of turning my dream into reality as I attended the Grammy Awards for the first time ever as a voting member of The Recording Academy.

Back in 2012, I released a pitch video for my IndieGogo campaign, attempting to raise money for my first full-length album and declaring that I would create a Grammy worthy project. Four years later, I made good on my word, getting my song, "Daydream" under consideration by The Recording Academy for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.

As I sat at the awards for the first time, I thought back to the many years that I sat in front of my television crying, wondering just how I would ever turn this dream into reality. I lived in my head for so long, but in my head, I could envision what was yet to be my reality.

I'm sending out this message to EVERY dreamer, that you may recognize the power you have within to make your dreams come true. As I sat in the official Grammy after-party Celebration with the likes of Gregory Porter and more, I realized that I was the one who made my dreams come true.Too often, we wait for others to come "save us," to somehow change our lives FOR us, but the truth is...that's OUR job and we are more than qualified to make it happen.

This is just a little reminder to you...and me...that we CAN do anything we set our minds to.
