Dear Parents, Guardians, Alumni, Parishioners, and Friends of Assumption-St. Bridget School,
The end of the second trimester of the school year will be very soon on March 3.  Students continue to work hard finishing up units, projects, and also are preparing for assessments.  Please take time now to review Skyward with your child.  Have your child contact their teacher to take care of any missing assignments.  You will also be receiving this Friday, your child’s MAP scores from their mid-year check (for Grades 2-8).  Please take time to review these as well and prepare any questions you may have, which can be discussed at the upcoming Parent/Student/Teacher conferences on March 16 and 17.
Tomorrow our eighth graders will participate in their mid-year retreat, which will be at St. Bridget Parish.  We thank St. Bridget’s for their hospitality and allowing us to use their space for this special day.  Please keep the eighth graders in your prayers as they reflect on their own personal legacies that they want to leave at ASB, and how their faith can empower them to do so with meaning, understanding, and grace.  Thank you to all of the teachers and to our Campus Minister, Robin Hendricks, who will participate in this day!
As a Catholic community, we begin to put our thoughts and hearts towards the upcoming liturgical season of Lent, which begins on March 1 with Ash Wednesday.  All students in grades 3-8 will celebrate Mass together at 9:00 a.m. on March 1, and we invite all ASB community members and parishioners to join us in the liturgical celebration as we all begin our Lenten journeys with open minds and hearts.
Here are a few words from the “principal for the day”:
“Hello from Mika Wellington.  I was principal for the day on Feb. 22 and I enjoyed it a lot, especially judging the crazy hats.  I saw a lot of creativity and bright ideas in the school community.  It was a pleasure to be the principal for the day!”
In closing, there seems to be a few stories floating around about the possibility of my husband and I relocating.  I would like to assure the community that we are thoroughly enjoying Seattle and have no intention of moving.  So if there were any stories out there, the McGills are NOT movingJ  I am truly grateful to serve this community!

In Christ's peace,
Christina Vierra McGill

Thanks for your help spreading the word about ASB School!  KEEP IT UP!

We are still accepting applications for next year's PreK & Kindergarten classes, and also anticipate openings in next year's 1st, 2nd, 4th 6th & 7th grades (some classes have just one opening, others have more). Please put on your thinking caps about families you know who might be interested in moving their child to ASB.  We have been very busy this week with tours & students visiting for "shadow days."  Let's keep the momentum going!

Extended Care prepayment plans for the 2017-2018 School year will be available for families to review starting Wednesday, March 1, 2017.  This will allow families to review the prepayment plans in advance of the State of the School meetings, at which ASB registration packets will be handed out.  Extended Care registration for the 2017-2018 school year will coincide with the State of the School meetings, and registration forms will be included in the registration packets (and available on the ASB website) at the time of these meetings.

I would like to remind Extended Care families that the City of Seattle has raised the minimum wage for hourly employees to $15 an hour.  Extended Care will need to adjust the price of our pre-payment plans in order to make accommodations for this raise and to ensure that our employees are receiving at least minimum wage.

Registration for Summer Extended Care or Camp ASB will open Wednesday, March 1, 2017.  Similarly to the past two summers, Camp ASB will not be open during the month of August.  There are a great deal of facilities projects that can only be finished when students are not on campus and August is the only time that ASB School has available to complete these projects.

Tax Information for Extended Care families is available in each family's FACTS account.  From each family's FACTS account, one has the ability to  create a report of the hours paid for and used during a specific time frame. The Tax ID # for Extended Care is 911934765.

If you have any questions about Extended Care, do not hesitate to contact me, I am happy to assist in whatever way that I can.

Thank you,
Dylan Pouley
