The General Assembly is WeGO's flagship conference and will be accompanied by numerous Smart City related events, including the 3rd WeGO Smart Sustainable City Awards—World Mayors Roundtable—World CIO Forum—City Digital Solutions Forum—Gala Dinners, Matchmaking Meetings, and many more, with over 350 e-Government and Smart City leaders from around the world in attendance. We warmly invite all cities to contribute to key WeGO agenda, to present their best ICT and e-Government practices to a high-profile international audience, and to enjoy rich networking opportunities with different stakeholders at the General Assembly. Achieve international recognition for your city's e-Government and Smart City Initiatives at the 3rd WeGO Smart Sustainable City Awards 2017
The 3rd WeGO Smart Sustainable City Awards is an international competition that recognizes excellence in ICT, e-Governance, and Smart City initiatives for the ultimate goal of urban sustainability and citizen well-being. Applications are ongoing until April 14, 2017, and we invite all cities to submit applications and be recognized for their work on smart sustainable city development. 2017 WeGO e-Government Training Program: Seoul Program 
March 26 - April 2, 2017
Seoul, Korea
WeGO and its partner, the Seoul Human Resource Development Center (SHRDC), will be hosting the Seoul Program, an annual e-Government Training Program designed specifically for WeGO members. This training program will feature lectures on Big Data, Internet of Things (IoT), Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and Smart City Solutions based on Seoul's experience and know-how. Technical tours to Seoul's state-of-the-art IT facilities, as well as cultural visits, will complement the rich training program curriculum.

WeGO Asia Regional Office Holds Chengdu e-Government Training Program
November 28 - December 3, 2016
Chengdu, China
The WeGO Asia Regional Office in Chengdu, China successfully hosted its annual Chengdu e-Government Training Program. The training program was attended by officials from 16 cities and highlighted Chengdu's e-Government development and Smart City projects. Aside from attending lectures, training program participants were also able to experience the culture of Chengdu through special tours planned by the city.  WeGO ICT Feasibility Study 2016: Establishment of Street Lamp & Traffic Light Monitoring System of Seberang Perai
September - December, 2016
Seberang Perai, Malaysia
The annual WeGO ICT Feasibility Study was successfully implemented in Seberang Perai, Malaysia. Through WeGO and its consultants, Seberang Perai received a Street Lamp & Traffic Light Monitoring System that uses Big Data, IoT, and mobile technology to detect malfunctioning lights without manual checking. The pilot demonstration will be operating in front of the Seberang Perai Municipal Council building until June 2017, with the goal of implementation throughout the Municipality soon. Know your city's e-Government maturity through the City e-Government Diagnostic and Solution (CeDS) Online Platform
The WeGO Secretariat encourages its members to use the CeDS Online Platform, a diagnostic tool to help members analyze their city e-Government maturity and identify key action items without the help of outside experts. The platform is exclusive to WeGO members and can be used up to 4 times a year to check the development progress of a city’s e-Government environment and to formulate effective development strategies. Members should contact the WeGO Secretariat and get their log-in credentials to start using the CeDS Online Platform! More information on the CeDS can be found here.
Make your city smarter with the WeGO-TM Forum Smart City Maturity and Benchmark Model
The WeGO-TM Forum Smart City Maturity and Benchmark Model has been designed to capture the key aspects of a city's transformation journey to become a smarter city, focusing on levels of community and citizen engagement. Any members who take the survey are also entitled to the following:
• A one-hour presentation of the Smart City maturity model with Q&A 
• The Excel workbook to be used for gathering data and city evidence as well as for presenting outcomes
• Benchmark data will be made available after submission of the survey data
• A wrap-up session with a Smart City expert to discuss the conclusions from using the model

Join the 2017 CityNet Congress
November 5 - 8, 2017

The CityNet Congress is a unique opportunity to voice your cities’ challenges and solutions as well as network and form partnerships with other CityNet members, partners, and business leaders. It will consist of the Executive Committee Meetings, General Council, Mayor’s Forum/International Forum, and site visits. At the General Council, elections will be held for the Main Office Bearers of CityNet for the period 2018-2021, namely President, Vice President, Executive Committee, Secretary General, Auditor, and Election Committee. Preliminary call for parallel sessions for the CityNet Congress 2017
CityNet invites you to submit a proposal to hold a side event during this year’s Congress that will benefit city leaders in the Asia Pacific region. The CityNet Congress 2017 marks the 30th anniversary of the Network of cities and stakeholders committed to sustainable urban development in the Asia-Pacific region. All proposals will be considered and decided upon through a selection committee at the CityNet Secretariat. The Seoul Human Resource Development Center (SHRDC), WeGO's partner for the popular e-Government Training Program in Seoul, is organizing  a number of additional training programs on other city-related topics, such as climate change training, urban development, and sustainable water management.
