A Message from our Interim Minister:

I'm delighted to be here and beginning to get a rhythm of scheduling that will work for me. As an interim minister I do a few things that a settled minister usually doesn't, but rest assured that I'm available for all the regular minister stuff! I'm available to have conversation about church matters of all kinds as well as pastoral concerns, ideas and worries, ways to participate in the church community, and matters of ultimate concerns. Don't hesitate to make contact if you want to talk.

We are certainly blessed with volunteers as well as paid staff who are trained, willing, and able to be of use, so I know you have other folks to reach out to as well.

I'm not available on Mondays. I spend a lot of time in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Those are the best days to schedule time with me.
Friday and Saturday I am less available and I may not respond quickly to most matters.

Sundays are, of course, a day for church not church business. It works fine if you want to hand me a note after the service, but please don't expect me to be able to check my calendar on Sundays.

You can send text messages and for emergencies you can call directly at
(330) 474-9712.  You can always email me at
minister@kentuu.org

I'm glad you're here!

Reverend Anya

New UU Class This Sunday!
Curious?  Interested in learning more?  Ready to take the next step?

Our New UU classes cover everything you wanted to know about the Unitarian Universalist Church of Kent in particular and Unitarian Universalism in general, but didn’t know where to go or whom to ask.  Well, maybe not everything, but we try to give you an overview, a starting point.  Some history of both, some organizational details. Come join the conversation.  And, if you're curious about membership, this is the place to be.

Sunday,February 19, from 9-11 am.  We will gather at the Annex, the yellow house next to the church.

If you have any questions, contact Claudia Miller

Considering  Membership?

Been attending Sunday worship for a while?  Found something here that resonates?  Attended New to UU Classes or joined a Chalice Group?  Has your experience at UUCK added a new and meaningful dimension to your life?  Perhaps you have been thinking of becoming a Member.

Membership is open to all who are in sympathy with the Principles and Purposes of the Unitarian Universalist Association and the Church Mission and Vision and who live in alignment with the Church Covenant.

Active Membership in the Unitarian Universalist Church of Kent entails three requirements:  active involvement in the Church, financial contribution in support of the Church, and signing the Membership Book.  Members must be at least 14 years of age.

Friends may “sign the book” at any time.  However, the Membership Book will be available at the Welcome Table in the Founder’s Lounge next Sunday following the Services.   A designated person will be present to witness and welcome your commitment.

Social Justice and Community Outreach
On Sunday, February 26 we will take our annual special collection in support of the Minister’s Discretionary Fund (MDF).  This annual collection will “refuel the fund" which is used to support our members and friends through difficult times throughout the year.  In addition to the February 26 special collection, donations to the fund can be made at any time thorough out the year by noting MDF on the memo line of your check.  As always, your generosity is appreciated.  Thank you.

It’s Not a Christmas Tree!
You may have noticed that the tree put up before Christmas is still outside the nursery. This has been designated as the Church’s Peace Tree. It stands as a sign of hope and renewal. Please feel free to write notes of peace on the pre-cut paper squares available under the tree and add them to the decorations supplied by Elaine Bowen.
